The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.
Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
